How To Use Essencera Products

How to Use Essencera Products

A simple guide for Pure Wash, Calm Wash, Shield Wash, Coat Condition, and Barrier Balm.

Essencera products are designed as high performance, concentrated grooming formulas that deliver salon level results with less waste, less water, and less product. Every step below follows the same core rule. Use only what your hands can lather thick enough to stick without dripping.

1. Pure Wash, Calm Wash, and Shield Wash

(Semisolid 100 ml tubes equal to 500 ml supermarket shampoos or two 200 ml professional liquid shampoos)

How Much to Use

Small dogs
Half of three fingers worth of product.
Rub hands together while still mostly dry until the paste turns into a thick lather that coats the palms completely.

Medium dogs
Use one full three finger amount.
Avoid exceeding this amount because extra product will fall off your hands when creating the lather.

Large dogs
Two full three finger amounts.
Apply in batches. Turn into a foamy lather one amount fully before applying the next so nothing is wasted.

How to Apply

  1. Start with damp but not dripping wet fur.

  2. Rub the shampoo between your hands until it becomes a thick, sticky lather. This activates the formula so it grips the coat.

  3. Work it from the neck down, then legs, belly, tail, and chest. Avoid direct contact with eyes.

  4. Massage for 10 minutes on small dogs or 15 minutes on medium and large dogs.

  5. Rinse thoroughly.

  6. Repeat the wash a second time for a complete clean. Two washes give the best results because the first removes buildup and the second cleans the coat itself.

Optional Dilution

You can dilute any Essencera wash at 20 parts water to 1 part shampoo. This is safe but direct application but dilution gives the best performance, especially for thick or oily dual layer coats.

2. Coat Condition

(Our hydration, smoothing, and skin supporting step)

How Much to Use

Because this formula is more fluid than our washes, amount varies by size and coat density. We typically use the tube for application as it can be easier than mixing in your hands but if you do its roughly the same as the pure wash.

Small dogs
Squeeze a small line along the back and a small line on the sides to be worked into chest. You can use a small line and legs.

Medium dogs
Draw one long line down the back and one short line down each leg.
Add a small dot for the chest and head.

Large dogs
Apply the product directly from the tube. Draw a full line across the back, one line on each side, four lines on the legs, and a small amount on the head.
This method prevents product loss if your dog moves a lot during bath time.

How to Apply

  1. Massage the conditioner deeply into the coat for 10 to 15 minutes.

  2. Make sure all areas are covered, especially friction zones like underarms, chest, and the back of the legs.

  3. You can rinse it out or leave a light amount in for ongoing softness and protection.

  4. Ensure no visible concentrated patches remain and avoid getting product in the eyes.

Think of this step like lotion for the coat and skin. Amino acids, aloe, glycerin and panthenol keep the coat smooth while supporting a healthy skin barrier.

3. Barrier Balm

(Targeted protection and soothing for paws, nose, and dry zones)

How Much to Use

Small dogs
A pea sized amount for the nose and one pea sized amount per paw.

Medium dogs
A slightly larger pea sized amount for the nose and one and a half peas per paw.

Large dogs
Two pea sized amounts for the nose and two pea sized amounts per paw.
You can also lightly tap the tube directly onto each paw pad, then work it in.

How to Apply

  1. Apply a small amount to your finger, then rub your fingers together and apply onto the nose, elbows, or dry spots.

  2. For paws, apply to each pad and pay extra attention to the larger metacarpal pad.

  3. Massage for 30 to 45 seconds if possible. Up to 1 minute is ideal.

  4. The balm helps rehydrate cracked areas, protect from heat or cold, and maintain skin flexibility.

  5. Completely safe if licked after application.

Routine Schedule for Best Results

• Wash once a week for optimal coat and skin maintenance.
• Never go longer than 2 weeks between washes for long haired or sensitive skin dogs.
• Most pet parents notice visible improvement by week 3 of consistent use.
• Barrier Balm can be used daily, especially during dry weather or heavy outdoor activity.
• All Essencera formulas are safe for human hands and gentle on canine skin.
